Each season of GSL seems to be better than the last. With some of the stiffest competition in GSL history, and upsets and nail biters as the order of the day, the Round of 16 has been nothing but can’t-miss StarCraft. If that wasn’t enough, the GSTL is as exciting as ever – with upstarts Fnatic and NS HoSeo shaking up the competition and proving they can hang with the favorites. You owe it to yourself to tune in.
Whether you’re a fan of individual leagues or team leagues, you’ve got something exciting to look forward to over the next week. The first half of the Ro16 was mind-blowingly exciting with unexpected results, as both the champion and runner-up from last season fell to Code A. Rising stars Symbol and Seed proved their worth, and mainstays TaeJa and MC showed they’re here to stay. But things aren’t going to slow down. The lone foreigner, Johan “NaNiwa” Lucchesi, takes the stage in the Ro16 for the second season in a row. Can he keep the dreams of the West alive? And then, we see the past and future of zerg collide as GSL Champions NesTea and DongRaeGu sit in Group D, waiting to clash. Who will come out on top?
Meanwhile the GSTL rages on each weekend. Fnatic takes on MvP and New Star HoSeo faces Team SCV Life in the Winner’s Match, with Fnatic and NSHoSeo looking to keep their momentum and clinch a playoff spot – defying all expectations. The next week, defending champion Prime goes up against SlayerS-EG in the Loser’s Match, and former runner-up StarTaleQ faces FXOpen eSports. The two favorites were upset in dramatic fashion, so these teams need to clinch a win to keep the dreams of a repeat performance alive.
