Ahhh yes i agreee!
I actually just came onto the forum to find an answer to this exact question after a lost game.

I tried ling/bling/roach/infestor.
I burrowed my blings, but his cheap as Terran Free scan and Free cloak stopper found them easily enough, so i had to move them.

Fact is, he can just get a little ball and advance on you with tanks - without committing marines.
If you can overwhelm him with masses amounts of bling/ling, you can do it. Problem though - it takes time to get mass lings like that...

+1 on needing answer please :(

what i tried teching to was muta/lings, so i'm not 100% if thats the proper way to go about it. but it does seem logical. having the muta harass the tanks as to stop the marines from pushing out.

but see my problem is the first wave. if i'm on the high ground and he seiged on the low. i find it very hard to get enough lings to surround better yet get to him because of the narrow choke of the ramp.

so yeah i'm just wondering what the proper cause of action would be =\

The Standard play against Marine/Tank is to go ling bling muta.

The key for any zerg play is to always have a better economy than your T opponent. Muta in this build are mainly for harassing and picking of tanks, i personally find them very useful for picking off that 1 or 2 stranded/moving tanks. Also, your opponent cannot fully turret his base so theres always spots you can hit. Blings are obviously for the marines and one mistake that alot of players make(including myself), is to smash your blings into tanks/anything that are not light. Try to use your blings ONLY for marines. Lings are pretty much a mineral dump and you cant get any other units since Muta and Blings are so gas heavy.

ANother method that ive been trying is a mix of Ling, infestor and Roach or Blings. Now infestors are very gas heavy so you cant get that many roaches/blings, its up to you to decide what kinda of ratio u want to have. Many T likes to poke with their marines with their tanks sieged at the back, use ur infestors to fungal. I always try to fungal the marines while using my lings to flank and hit the tanks(Marines cant move due to fungal). 2 Fungals are needed to kill a ball of marine so make sure you do it twice. Also note that alot of Z let their infestor die after throwin fungal which is stupid(I do it sometimes too), infestors are too expensive to lose. Infestors opens up alot of other options such as sneakin behind the sieged line and Neural parasite their tanks while ur lings swarm forward(Highly micro intensive for me), throwing an egg onto the marine ball/another tank so they will get hit by splash dmg when the tanks hit the egg.

Heres an example of me doing all the wrong things IE, Smashing my banelings into planetory outta frustrations, mis-microing my infestors, and fighting a thor with my mutalisk.
You would see in this replay that i could have won the game with the unit composition several times if i havent done stupid mistakes that i mentioned above.

Not the best player here but hope this helps.

i actually didn't think about Infestor/ling as a counter, because infestors are so expensive, because u would need to get off some great FG in order for this to work. because you're very limited to how many FG u can use unless your energy is full.
but very interesting (: i gotta try it

Infestor Ling seems to work good, i've found.

Best thing I've used, and continue to open with vT is ling bling. 6 blings and 12 lings can take out more than you think. One of the nGen (or TL? Can't remember) lads did a tutorial on youtube. Since then I haven't had a problem with T marine/tank. From there you can feint into mutas and go ultras, or expo and get mutas. Creep spread is a must, as the chance of taking out the ball with units to spare afterwards increases somewhat on creep.

4 infestors (6 mutas equivilant money?) can fungal quite a bit, especially from HIGH GROUND if you can. a couple of infested terrans close to the ball/tanks as well and everything melts. Burrow and harrass :)

Darn infested terrans. Free, moving, high DPS turrets.... *grumble grumble grumble*

LOS and map control. sure this isn't gonna win it alone...but having towers, creep spread and overlord/scouting zlings can help u see the terran advance. the amount of times tanks sit unseiged on my creep is ridiculous. just speedling it in and by the time they seige up it's too late. Also good to run around the immobile terran force and start hitting his base

oh and keep pumping out changelings

Ling/Infestor is a ''Fun'' way of dealing with marine tanks but recently ive been having alot of trouble executing the buiild. Neural parasite doesnt work cos it gives the infestors high priority and at the Masters level, some of the Terran players have amazing tank spread. Not to mention some really sweet drop ship load/unload marine micro.

Therefore, ive been reverting to Muta Ling Bling recently simply becos i need the Mutas to handle drop harass/Pick off drop ships.

NP doesn't work on marine tank, you are better off using the fungals to kill the marines. I personally prefer the ling/infestor/ultra with fast upgrade build, infestors are great especially if the T plays sloppy and be lazy and clump all thier units together.
