How does one read Zerg builds?
|
Hello fellow Starcrafters.
I have had the game for around 3 months now (and suck (bronze)). As I have only played SC2 (not 1), I cannot play (or understand) Protoss and Zerg builds. How do I understand that %^*(? Thanks. |

Don't worry about what they're doing...... Just focus on what you're doing...
Even if a bronzie is using a build order, it's going to be so weird and wrong and unscoutable that you will just never know exactly what to expect. If you spend your time concentrating solely on building up a good economy and not letting your minerals jump over 400 then you will pretty much promote to silver. |
Don't worry about what they're doing...... Just focus on what you're doing... People's timings don't even get close to pro timings until Gold in my experience. Just pick a build and execute it well, ignoring what they're doing. If your macro is good, you'll get to silver fast and gold shortly. It's only really going from high gold to platinum that I've found a need to adapt my strategies as I scout my opponent. |

Learn some basic times that you yourself appreciate. Something like:
2 minutes in. If he 6-pool rushed me his spawning pool would be JUST finished. Better be careful 4 minutes in. Is he expanded? Is he going roaches or zerglings? 6 minutes in. Could have a bunch of roaches at my door around this time. Better scout earlier 8 minutes in. His spire could be building now. Scout and counter Once you figure out how long it takes to rush to mutas, or rush to roaches or whatever, you will be better at scouting. |
