Can we fix this???
|
I recently played a game against a Terran and low and Behold he went MMM with his balance swinging more towards Marauders. He tried to do some sort of rush thingy and I stopped him, scouted his base and saw the heavy Mauraderer compisition so I built Immortals to combat this. I moved up with a 4 or 5 gate backing just as he dropped into my base so I initiated a attack. Now in hind sight I ovioulsy should have spit my army after taking out the bulk of his forces but I wanted to ensure he couldnt come back with Mass Marines with MULE support as Terran have a habit of doing. Alass I left it to late and had only 90 minerals left with no Nexus but the rest of my base was pretty good. He lifted off his buildings during the attack and moved them into places I could not reach with my army compistion. So ultimately we both got a stale mate. The problem I have is Because of that 1 building floating where I coulnt get it I effectively lost. Even though I had atleast half a base and a formitable army to boot. All he had was the one floating building and we still came a draw. I just find that Terran winning on a technicality like this to be a flaw surely there should be something so fix this? Albiet next time I will split my forces earlier.

you can't fix stupid

Was like this in sc1 too. A perk of terran is being able to turn loses into ties.
be happy there is a tie option. |
That wouldnt mater, The game would end once they destoyed all my buildings.
Yeah I admit I made a mistake but I find it a bit of an fault in the game that someone could loose like this. A simple solution would be to give buildings fuel or something like that so they cant just sit out there for ever. A proper stalemate would be if we BOTH had nothing left and were BOTH unable to do anything. He simply moved out of reach and waited there until the game timed out and I still had a reasonble army and base. Just no econ. He had a floating building. How is that a equal loss/Stalemate? Was like this in sc1 too. A perk of terran is being able to turn loses into ties. I was willing to wait. I can go play Xbox or something. |

be glad he didn't have a raven to constantly reset the draw timer for 9 hours :P

You didn't win in the parameters given. That is that. We all accepted it. There was Riotting about this 1.75 years ago, no longer the case.

I feel you. Some people just can't accept that they lost and instead of politely gg-ing out, they lift off their buildings in hope that the game ends in a tie. Maybe should a tie occur, the person who has the higher score in the score screen counts as the winner and the person who has the lower score counts as the loser. Since you had half a base and a sizable army, you should have a higher score compared to your opponent. But still, I can't stand people like that, and I think most of us don't, too. |

Its not dud...
Its a terran perk. Same as mules. Sure we think they are imba because they let you do bull!@#$ like this, but blizzard won't budge any more than they already have. That is that. |
|
The moral of the story is never base trade with a terran... always ensure you have a probe and enough minerals to make a new nexus if you get into that situation.
However even though I am currently playing Terran (was random) I do agree with you this is rather stupid and some other mechanism should be used to decide a winner, perhaps total units killed or some such measure. |
Its not dud... I disagree, If everyone is in common consensus they should fix this. Everyone, including Terran players them selves, would get the !@#$s with this. I mean if you somehow drawed like this in the pros people would spit on you and declare you the looser by default. It is an easy problem to fix and would make the game fairer. |

i can see why you're frustrated you didn't get the win, but just because this happened to you once you want blizzard to fix this for you. naww
your friends agree too? it's a consensus? but how many times has a terran actually drawn a game like this? probably <0.01% of games. and how many times has it actually happened to you i find it annoying and frustrating sometimes that an enraged terran will lift his buildings and force a few extra minutes of game time because you dont have air. but it's a terran perk, part of he game, get used to it. as for I feel you. Some people just can't accept that they lost and instead of politely gg-ing out, they lift off their buildings in hope that the game ends in a tie. Maybe should a tie occur, the person who has the higher score in the score screen counts as the winner and the person who has the lower score counts as the loser. Since you had half a base and a sizable army, you should have a higher score compared to your opponent. this is just you talking. sure, u might be the most polite player in the world and say you'd leave if u were losing, be polite, gg blah blah blah. but be realistic, whatever it is that gives people more satisfaction they will do it. deal with it, it's the truth -0' '0- -0' '0- bleh |

Eeeerrmmm... OK.....
Im just saying it would be easy to fix and if most people agree with me it would be a general concensus. As for it being a Terran perk, I can see MULES being a perk when I loose to out-resourcing or Scanner Sweep detecting my DTs or something and then the Terran player crushing me for a legitimate win. But this just seems like last ditch resort to draw out when you know youve been bettered. Your not loosing your being screwed by a technicality. |
|
And We're all just saying
NOTHING IS BROKEN. You have to consider the fact that they can do this to you... Base trading isn't the same for every race, or against every race. |

If it ain't broke don' fix it.
It's a minor perk, the situation comes up very rarely, and there are even precautions you can take to prevent it from happening.

Be happy that all the island expansions are gone. Imagine if they weren't, and you had no way of kiling his OC before it made it to one.
Your stuck on your ~70 food army with no workers, while an Island expansion can provide the resources for 20 3/3 battlecruisers :\ |
|
Well, as a Terran. I see this as a *%!@ move, nothing more.
Just talk with the guy/girl that is a total jerk by lifting off and not accepting a loss. And another true fact, base trading with Terran and not having atleast 1 AA/ flying unit, don't expect a win because you infact, didn't micro your workers away from the heat of battle. When he lifts, go back to your base kill those marauders, make your probes long distance mine, get stargrate. Bam you just lifted the stalement. (anything like mining or a unit's health going down due to the doing of the opponent refreshes the stalement) This time, just be careful. Another tip: burn each of the buildings if you happen to basetrade, it should be enough to kill him off. gl hf |
