Day[9] MOTHERSHIP RUSH DAILY

As with the lift off one, im makin a thread here for anyone who wants to mothership rush and submit their replays.
Its gonna be hard for me to NOT expand until the mothership is out, but im gonna get 5 GOOD wins and upload them here If your taking up this daily, post any entries here so we can all see how you went. |
You should Proxy Nexus mothership rush not allowed :( you are not allowed to build a nexus until your mothership is starting to build. But anyway, my first successful replay: http://terranimba.com/replay/CyovR0rpRTpTIa8HYbD This match involved a mothership recalling my army for my first strike. Did some damage, but ultimately I lost everything. But his counter attack failed because just after the recall another carrier was built and I got a few zealots there in time. Constant reaper pressure was painful, but in the end I managed to get a dangerously large army, heaps of upgrades and, most importantly, 12-16 archons and a-moved to his base. Too bad I didn't have enough energy for an archon toilet :( |

Its Funday Monday To quote day9 Where we would normally learn to be a better gamer except on MONDAYS where we %*@@ Around! meaning he wants us to pull of strategies that shouldn't work and win with them. Its like how he put out the carrier rush challenge (#188), and in the end HuK submitted 2 working replays and redefined the carrier for him. |

Well if theres anything I learnt about mothership rushing its that they attack and almost kill you just before it does, then your army disappears, they panic and mass retreat. Also, if they just killed your whole army but you have removed their detection, warp in 20 DTs and remember to make void ray hallucinations |
I've only been playing Protoss for about a month - half as long as I've had the game - so there's still some things I'm still learning. Mothership rushing those games taught me not to be afraid to put on some pressure, oddly enough. There are still some units I don't use enough, like Sentries. I need to use those more. Also, DTs+Warp Prism=<3 |

http://terranimba.com/replay/gitK3MoOHL A failed 3-rax push (held off with only zealots and stalkers :D) ended up facing off against the deadly protoss 3/1/1 (3gate-star-robo), eventually having to face off against the dangers of max upgrades carriers with chargelot + immortal support. The mothership made for a great distraction in this replay, and was also responsible for holding off the original 3-rax push (they gave up when the mothership came out) |
These are what I reckon are my 2 best bets of getting in, with more points going to the top one. Cause I lost the whole F***ing base and went DTs because I was behind... |

I'm watching the top replay, and I notice you have the pheonixes on the same hotkey as your ground army. If they were say, hotkey 2, wouldn't that make it easier to select them and pick up Immortals - at the start before you went DTs and needed to pick off Observers - or something? You could be using them to pick off Observers, though, so I dunno. Just something I noticed.
edit: Also, very well played :D. I especially loved the first time you warped in DTs :D. |
