Any one here using a Razer starcraft headset? is it any good? How about the razer mouse?

if you were to be given one of those for free, which one would you prioritize?

Im still happy with my Razer Imperator and Filco Ninja keyboard =D

You might want to take a serious look at RAT7-9 though. Just look for it in Youtube and you'll see what I mean =D

About your Q: go for the mouse =D the headset thingy looks bulky

Hmm I need to correct my above post:

If you have a good mouse already, get the Razer headset =D vice versa

If I had to choose between the two...

Id choose the headset. Or a Razer Death Adder BF3 edition (if someone was nice enough)

Currently Im using:

Asus G73Jh built in keyboard
Razer Lachesis mouse (2010 model)
Cheap logitech headset (not sure which one)

So I'd prioritise a new keyboard, then a headset. And I dont see me needing a new mouse any time soon.

Recently got a decent mouse. Was going to purchase a Razer Keyboard but I held off

So I guess a New keyboard is first on the list for me

I got the Razer Marauder and Spectre, My preference would be keyboard, mouse, headset.

The lights are pretty, and the keys are nice to press and whatnot.

The headset would be my priority. The mouse does not look comfortable from what I can see, and I don't really need a new keyboard, because I have an in-built one (Laptop).

There's a few physical items you can get to improve your gameplay somewhat.

First is a good keyboard. A lot of pros prefer mechanical keyboards. check out this link for more info on those: http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide

Second is a decent mouse and mousepad. Mice come down to personal preference. High DPI means they are basically more precise. You can make finer and more accurate movements more quickly. Weight and comfort are obviously very important. A good mousepad thats a decent size helps the mouse to track far more precisely and more fluidly, size giving it less chance of slipping off the edge in the heat of battle.

Third is a decent headset. Sound is important in SC2. It's not quite as important as it is in FPS games, but it's still pretty important. Build more pylons, your drones are under attack. even injects popping or upgrade complete. DT's attacking your units (swoosh swoosh) while in a battle...

Fourth would be hardware for ur comp... decent graphics card etc.. That being said SC2 doesn't require very good PC specs... I use all low settings anyway so I don't get any type of graphics lag.

I use:

TT Esports Challenger Ultimate Gaming Keyboard http://www.ttesports.com/products/product.aspx?s=12

TT Esports Black Element Gaming Mouse http://www.ttesports.com/products/product.aspx?s=16

some random (but not entirely crappy) Logitech headset/mic

My older gear (in this example a keyboard) spits out the keys in your face when you press too hard =D Imagine playing an all out zerg-fest then, out of nowhere, the letter 'A' hits you in the eye. Yeah...not fun =D

My other old gear (some cheap logitec mouse) also has some tricks up its sleeve...it will suddenly stop working due to amount of debris/hand-gunk/manjuice blocking the lazer eye beneath.

Hence I upgraded my crap to some other hi-end crap (yey! im not poor anymore! I can afford proper equipment now! NO MORE REUSING OF UNDERWARE FOR A COUPLE'O'WEEKS COZ IM SAVING MONEY TO BUY MORE SOAP!!!)

What is "better" gear to a person is dependant one each individual person.

There are many factors for whether or not your equipment is good for you. Hand/Finger size, preferred mouse grip and where you like to have hands on your keyboard.

Of course, things like mouse accuracy, keyboard sensitivity can improve your play when at the right settings, but many things are down to personal preference. A few extra buttons on your mouse won't hurt though. =P

You should ask a Tennis player, a cricket player, a 100 metre sprinter, a long distance runner, a golf player etc. etc. etc. the exact same question.

Of course it does. Thats what it's designed for.

i got the newer gen g15, i think the name is g510 lets you blend the colours to your liking. only cost $110aud irc.

oh and talking about equipment = improved performance...
i remember a news update about some pro swim wear being banned in pro tournaments/games for being TOO good.

When particular technologies have been ‘too successful’, such as Graeme Obree’s bicycle and riding position, or polyurethane-coated swimsuits, they have been banned for giving an unfair advantage. Some, like Rebecca Adlington refused to use the new swimsuits for ethical reasons even before they were banned, claiming they are a form of ‘technological doping’

^ taken by a quick online search to refresh my memory.
yes to it somewhat helps but you have to have the skills for it to be benificial. i can have the best computer and best gears and still be a noob compared to someone who barely can run a game at low gfx.

I just don't see how it would make a difference unless you are playing at an extremely high level. I have a $4 logitech mouse and a cheap laptop that drops FPS in multiplayer games.

Yet I don't think it's hindered me at all. I don't need to click 20 times a second in different locations. I can hit 400 apm when I need to with the cheap gear.

So yeah, if you are a pro, I an see why the gear matters. But at our level? Nah.

Microsoft optical mouse (goes in for the high five from Mathmick)
